I've been on this quest to get rid of all the clutter in my home and organize what was left so that I could actually use what I have. Especially in the knitting department. To use yarn, one must be able to actually get to it, right? Yes, I'll admit it - I'm a yarn addict. I'd tried a low-cost method of stapling boxes together with the openings facing out to create a system where I could see my yarns to start new projects. But without doors, it was all getting so dusty - and then we had a minor earthquake and all those boxes ended up in a jumble in my closet-under-the-stairs (which I fondly refer to as the craft closet). Consequently, I couldn't even begin to get into the closet to choose, much less see, all the beautiful yarn at my disposal. This resulted in my not knitting - and not knitting makes me a very cranky individual. So clearly, something had to be done.In the process, I looked at a LOT of storage solutions on Amazon and I admit, I did overestimate the amount of storage I would need. But when I found these, and they were so much cheaper than some nearly-identical competing brands, I had to try them out. The best advice I can give you is three-fold. First off - buy these! The storage system is simple and elegant. The second thing is - construct just one box - make all your mistakes on that - before you start trying to build more. Once you get the hang of it, this goes together quickly. The third thing is - don't try to assemble these as three free-standing towers. You'll run out of parts, because they're supplying only enough to make a 4 X 4 set of cubes that all interlock. Installation isn't difficult, once you get the hang of how the connectors work. The connectors have 4-direction slots for the wire corners of each wall, ceiling and floor to slide into. The door posts go in the front vertical slot. I've attached pictures in hopes that this will make some sense and save you some time on the learning curve. My wish list includes: PLEASE make it possible to purchase additional individual pieces! I don't want a "hanging part" in the center. I need at least 5 more of the 18" long wall pieces and several more connectors to make this exactly as I want it to be. Forcing people into having two sections in the middle that are open seems a bit limiting. I'm not going to deduct any stars because I'd only deduct 1/2 for the lack of flexibility in being able to construct it as I wish. I knew what I was purchasing when I got it, so it's not like it was a surprise. I just would really appreciate being able to purchase additional pieces to make this truly perfect for my uses. Now all my yarn is happily corralled in the craft closet and I'm knitting again - much to the Hubs' delight. Life is sweet!
